welcome to dad does and today we are
reviewing the undercover spy cam from
the spy gear
so as I hold this in my hand kinda looks
a little bit like a phone has an
interesting maps and other information
on the back and screen and I'm going to
turn it over a couple of buttons here in
the front and i want to show you this
mode here and what allows you to do is
take pictures i'm going to press this
down to turn it on
this is just a power switch here I want
to show you the least impressive feature
for Hurst and what you see here is a
screen on the back
I'll put my hand in front there so you
could just take a photo so if you want
to use this as a regular kind of spy
camera
boom i can take a picture of my hand in
there you go have a picture my hand now
you're saying there is nothing
impressive about that
and you're right but here's where things
get interesting it's actually a
motion-activated spy camera so like any
good spy toy
it transforms so first you can take this
piece off
all right what you going to do that wait
look there's more now we snap open the
bottom there's a suction cup
interesting what would a spy do with
that suction cup so I'm just going to
close this up here as i show you how
that works here we're going to put this
piece down
ok going back to our camera here we can
now attach this suction cup so this is
just going to turn onto the back as i do
that for you okay
we now have our suction cup now here's
where things get pretty cool
now what you can do is you can suction
cup this to a wall to a window and its
motion activated so you're taking spy
photos on this
nobody oh this is for photos so when
someone walks past this
it's going to activate the camera and
snap a picture now things get
interesting
let's show how this works now so let's
say John is thinking maybe something is
going on in this room wants know what's
going on he's going to stick this onto
the window here
it's got this suction cuppy sticks it on
all right jon is going to move out now
maybe someone comes into this room like
me
I don't notice this in here maybe I'm
going over there still a nerf guns do
whatever im doing so now this device is
going to take a picture every time
someone moves by it that's why that
little red light will blink there
that means that's taking a photo so its
motion activated so obviously we have it
in a pretty obvious spot right
got a window but if you had this in a
closet more hidden away
kids are going to love this can put in
their room every time someone walks by
it snaps a photo and we're going to hook
it back up to the rest of the device
with the screen
so John will be able to see what was
going on in here even though he wasn't
here
so once we're done with our surveillance
then it's time to check out what
happened and view the picture so i have
just taken off the suction cup on the
back here and i just put it inside of
our spy gear device here i'm going to
close this up and then the next step is
simply to slide in your camera onto the
device here
now you can view these pictures on your
computer we're going to show you that
there is a USB jack right here so you
can connect it up
I want to show you how it works here on
the phone so we're going to zoom in it's
a small screen
we're going to try to zoom in to get a
better idea of what's going on alright
so let's explain what's going on the
screen here
first of all to different resolutions
you've got a low and high resolution now
there's fixed memory and here so high
resolution you're going to get about 25
photos low resolution about 50 photos on
no memory card so you can expand it so
right now that's showing that we are in
high resolution I just hold down this
button here
yes he is which is just smaller thing
now we're in lower by solution to 25
more photos available there
switch it back to high and 13 available
if we doing hi so that's one of the
settings there
this is pretty simple though so that's
what we want to play back now and see
what we got going to hit this
we're going to start to see some
pictures here ok
there I am we're going to show better
pictures of this right off this device
onto your screen so you can see it but
just want to show you kind of what you
can see on this little LCD screen
you are able to at least kind of have an
idea of what was going on maybe who was
stealing your stuff we broke into your
room and so it's pretty fun again the
play value of it the ability to hook
this back up to this phone looking like
device and be able to see right there
hey that was you stealing my nerf gun
whatever be able to see all that right
here so we think that's fun
of course if you hook this up to the USB
Jack bring it onto your computer you can
download these photos and have some more
fun with it but that's how it works
motion activated so it's going to snap a
picture every time someone walks in
front of it
if you want to delete something there's
a trash but in there I want
delete that one I could just get trash
then yes no and I can decide whether I
want to delete that and just want to
show here in terms of poking it up to
your computer pc or mac comes with a
cable which is nice so you're just going
to plug this into your computer kind of
treats it like a USB thumb drive
then you can pull the pictures off of it
and do what you like with those pictures
on your computer and now we want to take
a look at some of those photos off of
the undercover spy cam so here they are
we think they're pretty good for a toy
this is the high resolution mode
I it's pretty wide angle on the lens
we're moving around again this is motion
activated so some of them are a little
bit blurry here I was moving that in
stop in front of it but we think it does
do a pretty good job so that just gives
you an idea of the quality from the
undercover spy cam
alright so here our conclusions on the
undercover spy camp we like it as a toy
I mean it's a lot of fun simple use just
to triple-a batteries
we never had a chain exchange batteries
on it so it seems to last a long time
doesn't use a lot of power
we of course love the motion sensor
aspect of it and the whole kind of James
Bond feel when you take this apart pull
out of here suction cup put this on a
wall and then it's just snapping photos
of anyone who walks into your room and
tries to steal anything
probably like a sibling then you snap it
back on let's say your siblings like I
wasn't in your room
flip it over and you've got the camera
right there don't need to hook it up to
a computer you have the screen right
here allowing you to see anything that
was captured on the camera
so again fun if you're just playing with
your friends and you say hey I have you
right here
there's none of that hooking up a cable
downloading which you can do you have
the instant gratification of having the
screen on it so we think that's cool
so those are the aspects we really liked
about the simplicity and the play value
and it just looks cool
now one of the reasons why some kids
might not like it if expectations are
too high so this is at why does not take
video
the resolution isn't great and even at
high resolution you're only gonna get
about 25 photos maximum 50 photos at low
resolution so the memory fills up
quickly and no way to expand the memory
so again this is just about expectations
if you're looking for professional spy
gear
this isn't it but if you are looking for
a really fun toy and your kids into spy
stuff and just kinda like the look and
feel something like this and the
technology in it
we think it's a lot
