Small Business Advisor Short Description:
Starting and Operating a Business in (state) ebook guides for 32 states (2005)
|
Small Business Advisor Long Description:
Small Business Advisor is the front-end software for the million-selling 'Starting and Operating a Business in ....' (NY, Ohio, etc.) book series, by Michael D. Jenkins, a Harvard lawyer and CPA, now available in electronic editions for 32 states (4 state edtions are included in shareware version). Updated fully in 9/2005, the software interviews you and then it creates a customized version of the book (for your state), in HTML file format. The software also creates a customized business startup checklist for you and can administer an 'Entrepreneur's Self-Test' to help you determine how well suited you are to running your own business.
Since 1981, the "Starting and Operating a Business in...." book series, has been the standard tax/legal/practical guide to starting a business in any of the 50 states or D.C., until the print version ceased publication in 2003, and it was used as the standard reference in SBA offices in every state. The new electronic editions for 32 states (editions for all 50 states will be available by mid-2006) have been FULLY REVISED AND UPDATED IN 2005, AND EACH INCLUDES 2005 FEDERAL TAX AND ENERGY LEGISLATION and other law changes.
The previous editions of this book series were chosen by Inc. Magazine in a cover article as one of the 6 'Best of the Best' small business guidebooks available, and Forbes Magazine, after an exhaustive analysis of over 200 small business guides, concluded that almost none of them were worth the paper they were printed on, but singled out the 'Starting and Operating a Business' series as one of only 4 such books that they could recommend to small business owners.
With this combined software/book package, Ronin Software and author Michael Jenkins have 'reinvented the book.' By asking you a series of simple questions about your business, the software is able to take your answers and instantly create an entire book, customized for you and your small business, based on YOUR facts and the laws of YOUR state.
